New Community Manager and Change in Plans (Again)

Hey folks!

My name is Jean-Francois Fiset, but you can call me Jeff! I'm the new Community Manager at Parabole and also Alex's brother.

I have my own desk at Parabole, so I'll always be close to the team (I'm not some random guy working from home). Of course, he also chose me because I'm good! ;)

My role is to keep the community updated about the game. I'll handle the blog and our Kickstarter page. Also, I'll be in charge of social network updates (Facebook, Twitter, etc).

Finally, I'll answer your comments everywhere, so don't hesitate to ask questions, I'm here for you!

Now, let's talk Kôna!

Screenshots, Because Why Not!

There is a new trailer coming up, but in the meantime, here are some screenshots!

Change in Plans

This is our first game as a team, so we must often make changes to create the great adventure game that you deserve!

  • Evolve PR is on board: We're now doing business with Evolve PR, a public relations firm that promotes video games. That means two things: More press coverage and precious advice to make the right changes for the greater good!

  • No More Early Access, but Closed Beta: We discussed and realized that delivering an Early Access only 3 months prior to the actual release might cause more harm than good to our goal. Good news for our backers though: instead of releasing the game on Steam Early Access, we'll give you Beta versions in August!

  • Reconstructions are gone: We decided not to do reconstructions anymore. Why? As you can see in Alex's article, the concept is great, but you always wind up playing some character fleeing an unknown threat. It doesn't add much to the experience because it's repetitive and it pulls you away from the main character. We will focus on more important game mechanics and the story.

  • OSVR Support: We're happy to announce that you will be able to play Kôna on the OSVR, which is a bit like the Oculus Rift, but open-source and cheaper.

In the Next Post...

Parabole hired 4 new employees (including myself), so I'll introduce the others in the next post.

Now that I'm around, there will be more updates and posts about the game to keep you in the loop! Don't hesitate to send comments, I'll be pleased to answer ASAP!

See ya!
Jeff
