Kôna: Day One

Hi there!
Haven’t heard from us in a while, huh? Sorry about that, we had a lot on our plate for Gamescom, which we attended, and we took some vacation while we were there. But here I am with some great news today!
First of all, Alex is going to be at PAX Prime this weekend in Seattle, so if you’re around, go say hi and try our game (booth 7012).
We’re also proud to announce the official title for the first episode, Kôna: Day One. As the title implies, the action, unlike most survival games, takes place in one day.
Before we move on to the news, here’s a gameplay video to show you the progress we’ve made so far.
Carl Faubert
We now have a model for the main character, along with new animations.
As you progress in the game, you will find a coat. It’s a work-in-progress, but here’s a preview.
Music
As you probably noticed in the gameplay video, the original soundtrack, composed by CuréLabel exclusively for Kôna, blends ambient and folk music. Here’s a sample, enjoy!
We now have a subreddit, /r/konagame! We’ll post content like updates, new blog posts and stuff. You can ask questions and submit ideas/suggestions to our team and we also welcome let’s plays of the game. Even if a demo is available on our Kickstarter page, we recommend to wait for the beta version or the game itself because we’ve made a lot of progress since then.
Great News
Finally, thanks to Canada Media Funds, we now have an extra $215,000 CAD budget for the game! It will help a lot for marketing, but also for the game development. This means extra polish and additional features that weren’t initially planned for the first episode. Additionally, we’ll be able to release Kôna in more than 2 languages. For now, we’ll still focus on English and French for voices, but we can guarantee at least 5 languages for subtitles (English, French, Italian, German and Spanish).
Thanks a lot for reading, see you soon!
